The essence of time.

Here is a story about a bird…and time!

Just recently, I was sitting on my deck reading my Bible, when a bird (similar to the above picture) flew into the window behind me. It literally dropped dead in front of me! Not knowing what to do, I kept on reading. I did not want to touch a dead bird!

After about half an hour, suddenly the “dead” bird came alive! It turned from its upside-down position and sat up! His eyes remained closed (he must have had serious concussion!). After a few minutes, while he was sitting in my presence, he began to chirp. Then he flew away! I suppose he just needed some time

He needed time to SIT…

He needed time to BREATHE…

He needed time to RECOVER…

He needed time to REGAIN STRENGTH and BECOME STABLE again!

“My presence” provided that place of safety for him!

As all of this played out, the Holy Spirit brought to my mind many scriptures…

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty ,Whose power no foe can withstand! Ps 91:1 AMP

The Bible also says in Ecclesiastes 3:1,11: “To everything there is a season…and a time for every matter!” and “He has made everything beautiful in its time!”

Time in HIS PRESENCE. Yes, time with Him will do just that!

If the “dead” bird needed time to regain strength …then so do we, right? My point is, whatever is “dead” CAN come to life again. In its time!

For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning to Me and resting in Me you shall be saved; in quietness and in trusting confidence shall be your strength. (Isaiah 30:15 AMP)
But God’s not finished. He’s waiting around to be gracious to you. He’s gathering strength to show mercy to you. God takes the time to do everything right; everything. Those who wait around for Him are the lucky ones. (Isaiah 30:18 MSG)

I don’t know about you, but this bird story speaks to me! I hope it speaks to you as well.

It is all about TIME!

In Africa, the people say: “You have the watch…but we have the time!”

Don’t neglect time in God’s presence. You may just be able to fly away, fully recovered, like the bird!

This is the essence of time!
